In 1986 Spike Lee made a film called She’s Gotta Have It. It is the story of a young African American artist who works in advertising and who is experiencing three romantic relationships at the same time.
More than thirty years later Spike Lee tells us this story again, but this time in a television series produced by Netflix. In 1986 the protagonist was played by Tracy Camilla Johns, in 2017 the character of Nola is played by DeWanda Wise.
In this first season, there are many interesting sequences; our favorite is a lesbian scene between DeWanda Wise and Ilfenesh Hadera.
