In 1974 Lina Wertmüller’s beautiful film Travolti da un insolito destino nell’azzurro mare d’agosto was released. Thirty years later Guy Ritchie made a remake starring the son of the original film’s lead actor and giving Madonna the part that was played by Mariangela Melato. The plot is the same. A rich, spoiled woman is shipwrecked on a desert island with a modest sailor. In the wilderness the roles are reversed and the sailor becomes the dominant element.
In the 38th minute Madonna is sunbathing topless on the deck of the yacht. She is turned on her stomach and we can admire her beautiful ass wrapped by her bikini bottoms. Sunbathing with her are Elizabeth Banks and Jeanne Tripplehorn. Forty-eight minutes later Madonna is having sex with a man on the sand of the desert island. Nine minutes later the director presents us with a sequence in which Madonna is running in a bikini on the beach, playing with water, and then lying naked on the sand.
