The Crimson Petal and the White

Directed By: Marc Munden

Nudometer:
Set in Victorian London, the television miniseries The Crimson Petal and the White follows the story of Sugar (Romola Garai), an intelligent and ambitious prostitute who becomes entangled in the life of William Rackham, a tormented young entrepreneur. As Sugar enters his domestic and social world, the dynamics of power, desire, and madness begin to intertwine dangerously. The series explores themes of female oppression, hypocrisy, and social climbing.
At the 37-minute mark of the first episode, a man pulls down his pants in front of Romola Garai, then bends her over the edge of a bed and has sex with her. Three minutes later, the actress is in bed, lying on her side next to a man, topless, and talking to him. At the fifty-minute mark, Romola Garai has sex with a man from behind, then squats over a basin with her skirt up and washes herself between her legs. Twenty-one minutes into the second episode, we see Romola Garai naked while riding a guy lying on a couch. Forty-one minutes into the fourth and final episode, we see Romola Garai naked and immersed in a bathtub.
