Una spirale di nebbia (AKA A Spiral of Mist) begins as a detective story, but soon becomes an essay on marriage. A wealthy family is gathered in a mansion to determine whether someone killed Valeria (Carole Chauvet), Fabrizio’s young wife. The woman has been found dead, and investigators must determine whether it was murder or a hunting accident. The couple was disliked by their relatives. He an incapable young man, she a disaffected gold-digger. Or perhaps things are different. Certainly, director Eriprando Visconti is more interested in the dynamics of marriage rather than on solving the riddle. We care little if the actresses take off their clothes.

At the eighty-fifth minute Carole Chauvet is running through a forest with a man under a downpour. Suddenly the urge takes them and they lie on the ground in the mud, she takes off her panties to have sex, but when she places her hands on the man’s pubis she accidentally touches a toad that was hiding under the leaves and stands up disgusted. In the 93rd minute Victoria Zinny and a man have sex leaning against a wall.
