Margot Robbie, the world’s highest-paid actress in 2023 and a three-time Oscar nominee, became a star thanks to her extraordinary performance as Naomi in Martin Scorsese’s 2013 film The Wolf of Wall Street.

More than a decade after the film’s release, Margot talked about what it was like working with Martin Scorsese and Leonardo DiCaprio on the Talking Pictures podcast hosted by Ben Mankiewicz. Margot shared that it was her idea to show herself totally naked for the legendary scene in which her character seduces her future husband (Leonardo DiCaprio) for the first time. Reflecting on her role as Naomi Lapaglia, the actress talked about the famous full-frontal nude scene and an unexpected moment during her audition.

The director had allowed her to wear a robe for her iconic scene, but Margot decided to play Naomi as totally naked, explaining that “That’s not what she would do in that scene. The essence of the moment is that Naomi uses her nudity as a weapon: that’s the card she’s playing.”

We cannot be happier about this decision. A decade later we are still dreaming about that scene.
