Bolzano, South Tyrol, is an Italian city with a strong presence of German-speaking citizens and is divided between two cultures: the German, precise and strict, and the Italian, lively and passionate. Both communities are shaken by the return of a serial killer who targets German-speaking victims. Years ago, Paolo, an Italian police inspector, lost a leg and his girlfriend in an attempt to catch the “Monster of Bolzano.” Now, Paolo is obsessed with the case and must work with Eva (Elena Radonicich), an ambitious German-born deputy prosecutor whose father had worked on the same case. Initially the two do not like each other, but gradually they become a very solid couple.
