The long original title of the film is L’asino d’oro: processo per fatti strani contro Lucius Apuleius cittadino romano. Based on two works by Apuleius, “The Metamorphoses” (also known as “The Golden Ass”) and “Apologia,” the film recounts the misadventures of young Roman Lucius Apuleius and his friend Aristomenes in ancient Mauritania.
In the eighteenth minute, in an extremely brief sequence, a young, brunette Barbara Bouchet complains about the heat and lifts her white tunic, showing her breasts to onlookers.
