In the 1970s, near Reno, Nevada, Grace Bontempo (Helen Mirren) runs the Love Ranch, a legal brothel. Her husband Charlie, a dreamer with a criminal past, handles the public front. After being diagnosed with advanced cancer, Grace becomes manager of an Argentine boxer, Armando Bruza, who wins her heart.
