The Roman emperor Caligula lives out the last days of his glory amidst excesses of food and sex. During a mud-wrestling show between two naked female slaves, he is particularly attracted to one of them, Lysia (Sandra Venturini), unaware that she has been assigned to kill him. However, Lysia develops feelings of passion and love for Caligula and decides to protect him instead of carrying out his mission.
