Among the many film adaptations of D.H. Lawrence’s novel Lady Chatterley, we point out this interesting Japanese version entitled Tokyo Chatterly fujin (Lady Chatterley in Tokyo). Contrary to the original story, the husband of this Asian Chatterley does not return maimed from the war. It is she who causes an automobile accident that leaves the man semi-paralyzed. From this point on, the woman (played by Izumi Shima) lives torn between guilt over what she has done and frustration over her unfulfilled sexual desires. The recently hired handyman may be a valuable outlet for her urges.
In the seventh minute, maid Yôko Azusa is having sex with a man in her room, but the performance is interrupted by the landlady, who calls her insistently. Seventeen minutes later Izumi Shima is dreaming of sexual intercourse with her husband. She is lying in bed naked and he performs oral sex on her, then gets on top to penetrate her. The dream becomes a nightmare: the memory of the car accident. Izumi wakes up topless, next to her husband, and starts kissing and caressing him. She tries to give him a blowjob, but the man unfortunately can no longer indulge in these pleasures. Five minutes later Yôko Azusa undresses to have sex in bed with her partner. He disagrees and goes to the window to smoke a cigarette. Fifteen minutes later we admire Izumi Shima naked in a long sex scene with a man in a flowery meadow. Seventeen minutes later Izumi undresses in front of two men and is admired. In the next scene, a man pours milk on Yôko Azusa‘s naked body, then she lies on him and massages him with her body. He holds a large dildo in his hand. At the same time Izumi Shima has sex with a man in another room.
