Papaya dei Caraibi (AKA Papaya: Love Goddess of the Cannibals) is the first in a series of Caribbean films made by cult director Joe D’Amato, who shot a handful of movies in Santo Domingo between 1978 and 1981. A team of geologists attempts to conduct a series of atomic experiments on an island inhabited by a tribe of cannibals. Papaya (Melissa Chimenti) is the leader of the cannibals, who kills the geologists after seducing them.
We see Melissa Chimenti naked right from the opening credits. The woman walks topless on the shoreline and lies on the warm sand. Soon after, Melissa enters a hut and has sex with a man, after smearing a papaya on his penis. Five minutes later we admire a full-frontal nude of Sirpa Lane, who is showering with a man. Half an hour later Sirpa Lane participates in a ritual. Several naked actresses dance around her, and one of them is Maria Grazia Smaldone. The girls dance and take Sirpa’s clothes off. Immediately afterwards, the actress wakes up naked in a bed. A few minutes later we are faced with a long threesome scene with Melissa Chimenti, Sirpa Lane and a man. Four minutes later Melissa has sex with a man while Sirpa spies on her through a window. After fifteen minutes Melissa Chimenti enters the scene wearing only a completely wet, see-through white shirt. The woman approaches a man lying in bed and starts making out with him. Later, Sirpa Lane has sex on the beach with a man. Three minutes later we enjoy a long lesbian sequence with Melissa Chimenti and Sirpa Lane.
