Director Catherine Breillat made Une vraie jeune fille (AKA A real young girl) in 1975, but it was not screened for the first time until 1999. In fact, soon after it was made, the producer went bankrupt, the production company was closed and the film catalog auctioned off. The film was purchased by the Artédis company and screened at the Rotterdam Film Festival in 1999.
