In an interview with the New York Times Magazine, Nicole Kidman revealed that she had included a special clause in her contract for the movie Eyes Wide Shut (1999), directed by Stanley Kubrick, regarding the sex and nude scenes with her then-husband, Tom Cruise. The Australian actress explained that she wanted to see all the nude scenes before they went into the final cut, to feel protected and safe. “I didn’t want people to laugh at me,” said Kidman, emphasizing how this clause allowed her to freely explore the complexity of her role.
