A young woman (Anne Bie Warburg) pretends to be a man to get a job as an assistant engineer on a merchant ship. By the time she is discovered, the ship has already sailed. Sømænd på sengekanten (AKA Bedside Sailors) is the last film in a series of eight, all connected by the Danish word “sengekant” (bedside). The series began in 1970 with the film Mazurka på sengekanten. Some of the actors are recurring. The only actress featured in all eight films is Annie Birgit Garde, but she strips very little. Her most interesting nudity is in the fifth film in the series.
In the eighth minute Anne Bie Warburg has sex in bed with a man. After sex, the two drink liquor and chat. Then they have sex again. During the performance he does not feel well and they call the ambulance. Stretcher bearers take the man away in front of the naked actress. Among the man’s clothes remaining in the room Anne finds a sailor’s ID. The woman decides to take his place: she cuts her hair very short and puts on a fake mustache. In the film she fools everyone, but to us she looks like a beautiful woman with a fake mustache. For forty-four minutes no one takes off their clothes and we watch typical seafaring days. The exception is a very brief scene in which Anne Bie Warburg wakes up and dresses for work, showing us her tits for a few moments. After these forty-four minutes a sailor enters the bedroom and finds Lisbeth Olsen naked, intent on having sex with a man. Three minutes later the sailor comes up to the ship with a large trunk, which he opens in his cabin. Inside is Lisbeth Olsen naked. After another three minutes Lisbeth is still naked and having doggy style sex with another sailor. In the following short scene there are hardcore images, but we do not know if it is still Lisbeth or a body double. One minute later Anne Bie Warburg and Lisbeth Olsen give us an intriguing lesbian scene.
